The Start

After over 10 years working within the “Industrial Consumable” business I had an urge that wanted to run my own business. I felt id learned enough about product, supply and had plenty of contacts or customers which I also saw as friends after dealing with them for a long period. Couple this with a good work ethic, honesty and desire to provide for my family. Fully supported by my wife I decided took the plunge and set up G7 Industrial Supplies in 2019.

Why G7 ? Simple really George my son and he always plays number 7 at football so it seemed an easy one, although now my daughter Harriet is a little bit older I’m not so sure shell be very happy about it !

The Progress

We started the business through help from a good friend, allowing us some space within his business. This kind offer allowed us to get off the ground and test the water without any great outlays. For this I will be forever grateful.

As these premises were a little farther afield than home the logistics weren’t great so we decided to move to a small office/workspace closer to home in Barugh Green.

This worked great until eventually we outgrew and an opportunity came up for an industrial unit even closer to home with much more room and more geared up for our business. We have traded from here for several years now and still have room for growth here.

During this journey it has become too much for just me so we now have my father, Bob doing some deliveries for us, my mum Ann helping around the office and George working on tasks such as data entry and warehouse bits.

The Future

We hope to continue the growth allowing us eventually to offer more employment opportunities for anyone, including young people.

So for now well keep doing what we are doing because it seems to be working and fingers crossed well keep going strong.
